Below I'm going to walk you through a few ways you can create blog featured images with a very simple systematic prompting. I'll also show you the output of the result (using this article title) as well as my reference image (if used).
The Simple Prompt
To create effective blog images using Nano Banana, start with this straightforward prompt:
Prompt:
Create a Cover Image that conveys the essence of my blog titled [INSERT YOUR BLOG TITLE].
Taking it further
It really is that simple, and I've found that little bit of pre-text really does influence the output to look more like a Featured Image than a typical image. That said, while that is a great starting point I wouldn't recommend just using this alone, but rather using it 'with' more context and direction. As you can see from the above output...that's not really my style.
Making it brand match
Here is another shortcut for you. While you can go heavy into instruction on style, coloring, theme, etc.. to really make the image fit your brand and desire....I've found a shortcut there as well.
Who Has Time For All That Typing!
I have an internal struggle with being a work-a-holic and lazy....so I'm always finding easier ways to work more and faster :)

Instead of wasting all that typing time (or talking if you've worked using a microphone into your workflow) just simply give it a photo as a reference. I generally take a photo that I like the style of (very often it is a previous Blog Featured Image Photo I've used) and then after the above prompt I add

Create the image is a similar theme and style as the Omni Reference image.

Using this simple prompt strategy with Nano Banana can significantly enhance your content. And, of course you don't need to go through that flow. If you know what you want up front just use that specific prompt and your title...and that's it. A single simple prompt that keeps you on brand and creating quickly! It’s an efficient way to streamline your image creation process, letting you focus on crafting valuable content for your readers.
Extra Note: I use virtually every image generator out there for different reasons, but as of writing this nothing compares to Nano in the area of getting text correct. Therefore at this point, it is about the only one I use consistently for any outputs with text in them. That said keep checking the latest and greatest because AI changes faster than a politician's allegiance at election time.
